FAA Part 107.29 Night Flight Ops Training Course

In order to fly your drone at night, you must obtain an FAA Waiver, and in your application, you must show that you have completed specific night ops training.

To legally fly your drone at night, you or your company/department will need to apply for what's called a Daylight Operations Waiver.

In your application, you'll submit detailed explanations of how you plan to mitigate risk across five separate areas.

One of those areas requires that you learn about aviation night operations:

"Prior to conducting operations that are the subject of this Waiver, the remote PIC and VO must be trained, as described in the Waiver application, to recognize and overcome visual illusions caused by darkness, and understand physiological conditions which may degrade night vision. This training must be documented and must be presented for inspection upon request from the Administrator or an authorized representative.”

This course offers the required training for drone night flight operations. Going through these lessons and scoring a 100% on our final quiz will generate a Certificate of Completion that you can use to fulfill your FAA Waiver application requirements.

We recommend this course to both Remote Pilot-in-Commands (RPICs) and Visual Observers (VOs).
